Welcome to Bear-olina!®
"Where traffic ends and adventure begins!" ®
Bear-olina refers to Washington County, NC, where some of the world's largest black bears and highest black bear densities are found. This part of the State is the breadbasket of North Carolina, with the largest concentration of farming. The abundant crops fringed by extensive forests is the perfect habitat for bears, birds and all kinds of wildlife. Plymouth, NC is the county seat and serves as a Base Camp for all your wildlife excursions in Northeastern, NC. With four motels and numerous restaurants, Plymouth is the centrally located hub of the wheel with spokes reaching out across the region in all directions to a myriad of Inner Banks waterways, national wildlife refuges and state parks. Plymouth is also the gateway to the Roanoke River Delta, which is NC's Amazon. There are over 50 miles of shoreline within 5 miles of Plymouth!
